Here are some online resources discussing journalism generally that may be of use. I invite you to add to or annotate these links.

 

First Amendment Center - Great background and coverage of First Amendment issues pertinent to journalists.

 

The Journalist's Toolbox - Provided by the American Press Institue, this site contains a wide range of resources.

 

JournaWiki - Journa Wiki aims to be a complete online reference for all aspects of journalism.

 

Pew Research Center for People and the Press - An excellent resource for the latest statistical research on the press.

 

Poynter Online - This online resource, provided by the Poynter Institute, claims to have "Everything you need to be a better journalist."

 

USC Annenberg Online Journalism Wikis - These cover a number of subjects from ethics to writing for the web to video production.

FACSNET - A well organized collection of backgrounders, primers and guides on a variety of news topics and a database of top experts and scholars on whom reporters can call for help.
